PALU – As 2025 came to an end, a group of journalists from various media outlets in Central Sulawesi held a social action by sharing meals with scavengers at the Kawatuna Final Disposal Site (TPA Kawatuna), Palu City, on Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 2025.
The journalists distributed 100 boxed meals to scavengers who rely on collecting recyclable waste for their daily livelihood. The activity was coordinated by Hendly Mangkali, a journalist from Beritamorut.com.
Hendly said the initiative was a form of empathy and solidarity toward marginalized communities, especially at the end of the year.
“This assistance is simple, but we hope it can be useful and help ease their burden,” he said.
According to him, the activity also served as a year-end reflection, emphasizing that journalists are not only responsible for delivering information, but also have a social responsibility as part of society. He expressed hope that similar acts of sharing will continue in the coming years.
